Great Pet Supply Storage is Just a Mudroom Away
If you have a pet your mudroom wouldn't be complete without a pet supply storage area to manage all of your pet items. Most people underestimate how much space their pet supplies encompass and frankly how messy pets can become when outside. Having a mudroom is ideal for housing all of your pet care needs. - A simple but sometimes overlooked item is a hook for a leash. Remember you want to keep as many things off the floor and counters. If you have more than one this is essential for keeping them separated. They are also good for hanging extra collars.
- All food items should be decanted when possible. Most pet supply stores carry special bins for food or you can use a generic one purchased in the housewares section. Add a scooper for easy dipsensing and it is much neater than trying to scoop from a bag.
- Find a bin large enough to accomodate all your pet's toys and place them inside. Put the bin out of immediate sight if you don't want the toys to be tossed out all of the time.
- All shampoos and medication should be located in another bin. Ideally get one with compartments to keep items separated. Place this one out of reach of children for safety.
A Pet Luxury
- If you could do one thing in your mudroom if space and budget allows it would be to have a large sink or low shower area for rinsing off your pet or giving baths. Those who have let in a muddy dog on more than one occasion can attest to the advantages of having one.
