Have you always wanted to organize your kid's playroom?
Are you tired of stepping over toys?
Do you spend too much time looking for play pieces that go together?
What about their clothes? Kid's closet organizers are everywhere!
And...what about their room you always wanted to organize?
Well, what can I say? Kids start accumulating "stuff" from the time they are little. This pattern doesn't stop as they get older. This is why it is so important to organize your kid's room right from the start before that whirlwind of items get out of control.
If you need to organize a playroom or a kid's room be prepared. These spaces have their own set of unique challenges. Not only do the items that need organizing change but also the children using the space change as well. So, it is important to plan ahead especially if budget is a concern. Look for furniture pieces that have dual uses. For example, an armoire is a great choice. It can be adapted to grow with your child from holding baby clothes to a computer/TV entertainment center. Or, you could always use it somewhere else in your home for storage.
One of the best things you can do is get your kids involved from an early age - remember organizaton is a learned behavior. They will learn from watching you. My experience taught me that kids will clean up if they have a place to put their things. So, involve them as much as possible, make it fun, and reap the rewards.
I have organized (and reorganized after our moves) 3 baby rooms, 5 kids rooms and 2 playrooms. It's exhausting just thinking about it! But of course I was thinking about the outcome - organized, fun and useful spaces that everyone could enjoy.
